Samsung Galaxy Tab S Pro to Challenge the Apple iPad Pro Head On!

Samsung and Apple have always been neck and neck with their tech devices. Both companies have done a remarkable job of maintaining a good competition every year with their new line of flagship phones, tablets, or smart wearables.

Right now, the companies’ latest competition is focused on the recently launched Apple iPad Pro and the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab S Pro, which was teased during the Samsung Gear S2 unveiling early this month.

Apple announced its largest iPad to date on September 9. The iPad Pro offers a massive 12.9-inch display and measures 6.9 millimeters in thickness, which makes the device one of the thinnest tablets ever created. The iPad Pro is the American tech company’s largest tablet to date.

Not one to be outdone, South Korean tech giant also has some tricks up its sleeve to counter Apple’s latest creation.

Apparently, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S Pro, also known as the Galaxy View, is envisioned to be a game changer by dwarfing iPad Pro and coming out with an 18.4-inch display. According to Geek Snack, the device will come with an impressive hardware featuring a 64-bit octa-core Exynos 7580 processor clocking at 1.6GHz, with 2GB of RAM.

Both Samsung and Apple have proven their worth in the global tech industry. It would be very interesting how they will pit the two devices.

The iPad Pro comes equipped with the brand new A9X SoC which is supported by M9 motion processor and offers 4GB of RAM. The iPad Pro is also equipped with iOS 9 which offers an array of multi-tasking features.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S Pro reportedly will come out with an internal storage of 32GB expandable via a microSD card. On the other hand, the iPad Pro has two variants for its built-in storage – one with an internal storage of 32GB and another with 128GB.

When it comes to battery life, Latino Post reports that both tech giants have amped up their devices because larger devices often require heavy battery consumption.

According to reports, the iPad Pro features a 38.5 watt-hour battery that can support up to 10 hours of usage with a continuous Wi-Fi connection.

With the latest operating system running, the iPad Pro can run on low power mode, which is a new feature that allows devices to automatically save power by terminating running apps and adjusting the screen brightness.

Samsung, on the other hand, also got its hands full with the battery of the Galaxy Tab S Pro. According to reports, the 18.4-inch device will be packing a 5,870 mAH battery that shall allow users a 10-hour straight usage time while connected to the internet.

Another factor that users are eager to buy new devices is the notion that they can capture photos with great quality. Luckily for Apple and Samsung fans, the Cupertino-based tech firm and the Korean manufacturer have always been consistent with improvements on the cameras of their devices.

The iPad Pro features an 8-megapixel iSight camera with autofocus and LED flash. There is even a FaceTime camera on the front.

Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S Pro is speculated to be equipped with an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera as well and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera.

Tab S Pro

As for the most important aspect of the device that people would look into, it looks like the Galaxy Tab S Pro will prove to be the iPad Pro’s killer because of its price.

According to Herald Current, the Galaxy Tab S Pro will be a step down from the Galaxy Tab 2, price-wise. Samsung will be lowering the price of its giant tablet in order to make it more affordable. The forthcoming tablet is said to come with a retail price lower than $400 by the time it hits the markets early next year. With its high-end specifications, however, it seems unlikely for Samsung to peg the price of its giant tablet at $400 or below because it would be a losing proposition, production-wise.
