Samsung Galaxy S8 Under Pressure to Deliver Big Time in Light of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Fiasco

The next flagship device that will come out from the end of the Korean tech giant is the Samsung Galaxy S8 which is expected to be released early next year.

With the global fiasco that was created by its flagship phablet, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, following its release last month, the pressure is now on Samsung to ensure that when its Galaxy S8 comes out, it would deliver big time and redeem the Korean tech company from another failure that was the Galaxy Note 7.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has made it to the ignominious list of the world’s most undesirable handsets when incident reports of the phablet catching fire on its own started making the news all over the world.

As a matter of fact, a number of international airlines have already imposed a flight ban on Samsung Galaxy Note 7 so any passenger using the device would not be allowed to board the plane for the obvious reason of safety unless they let go of their Samsung Galaxy Note 7.

Unlike in the case of the Samsung Galaxy S5 in 2014 which was more of a design undoing from the Korean tech giant, the issue on the Galaxy Note 7 is an obvious technical glitch and also poses a safety risk to its users, which makes it a bigger problem for Samsung.

While total product recall is a good way out for Samsung initially, but the damage that the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco has caused the Korean tech giant would really take a long time before it is completely healed or forgotten by consumers.

Thus, the pressure is now on the Galaxy S8 to make it big when it comes out next year as it would also determine whether global consumers have already moved past the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco by then or still not.

Keeping everything under wraps

There have been previous rumors and speculations about the features and capabilities of the Samsung Galaxy S8 but it looks like Samsung top officials are now working overtime to prevent leaks about the device from surfacing online, reports the Phone Arena.

In fact, there are reports saying that Samsung managers have already asked its employees and its suppliers to prevent any potential Galaxy S8 leaks which they claim also contains the company’s operational secrets.

The company e-mail mentioned that leaks of operational secrets can cause irreversible ramifications and pose a great financial risk on the company and may lead to broken partnerships and loss of trust.

Smartphone manufacturers used to be able to keep their upcoming devices a secret until launch day. In modern times, however, not a single major smartphone is announced without the internet knowing nearly everything there is to know about it.

With the major mess created by the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, it would be interesting to find out whether the Samsung Galaxy S8 would have what it takes to reverse the trend and redeem the reputation of the Korean tech giant from a new depth that it has never found itself into before.

What to expect from the Galaxy S8

There are now reports going around that Samsung would be officially announcing the Galaxy S8 one day before the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 which means that it would happen on February 26 next year.

Consistent with previous rumors, the Samsung Galaxy S8 shall be removing the Home button from the bottom of its upcoming flagship smartphone in favor of a digital onscreen Home button.

The removal of the feature would mean that the Samsung Galaxy S8 would have a full edge-to-edge display. More importantly, Samsung will be beating Apple to the draw in removing the Home button on its device because there are also rumors saying that the American tech giant would also remove the feature on its next iPhone in 2017.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 shall reportedly feature a 4K resolution featuring a 3840 x 2160 screen resolution. It would enable the Korean tech giant to market the smartphone as one of the sharpest screens of any mobile device and turns the smartphone into a suitable platform for the next generation of mobile VR, details Forbes.

The smartphone shall have seriously impressive features including a Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 octa-core processor at 3.2GHz with 6GB of RAM and a 64GB of internal storage that can still be expanded via a microSD card slot.
