The Korean tech giant, Samsung Electronics, is set to say goodbye to a terrible year that has led the company to a major debacle involving controversial political issues, the Galaxy Note 7 brouhaha, and more than two million defective washing machines.
Amidst the bad press for Samsung due to failures on one of their flagship device and product, the company is still determined to make a comeback to redeem its tainted reputation.
As 2017 ushers a new beginning, Samsung will initially launch the Samsung Galaxy S8 with more engaging and exciting features that the company has done so in the past in order to deliver on customer expectations.
According to reports, the upcoming flagship smartphone will be launched in February 2017 during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 in Barcelona, Spain.
There are rumors suggesting that Samsung Galaxy S8 will be the first device to unveil impeccable features that will be poised for greatness next year.
Accordingly, it will be the first smartphone that shall have Bluetooth 5.0 as a standard feature, which was just introduced by Bluetooth Special Interest Group last week.
But what does the Bluetooth 5.0 feature entail, people ask?
Imagine using the Samsung Galaxy S8 with Bluetooth 5.0 version on, one can share easily the files such as videos, music, word documents, and the like even if he or she is not too close to his or her recipient. Meaning, the Bluetooth 5.0 version can cover a wide range of area similar to an entire house with no barriers.
The Bluetooth 5.0 feature allows Samsung Galaxy S8 to enable a more convenient usability version which has 2 Mbps speed, which is higher than the standard Bluetooth speed.
Reports also say that the feature does not replace the old Bluetooth versions, which mean that even a lower version can still work with Bluetooth 5.0. However, the lower versions won’t be able to match what Bluetooth 5.0 already has.
Despite the Samsung Electronics’ hesitation on concealing highly confidential features and updates about the soon-to-be-released flagship smartphone, there are also rumors detailing about the other exciting features of the Samsung Galaxy S8.
It is said that Samsung Galaxy S8 will also adopt the famous iris scanner feature for smartphone owner’s identification.
The iris scanner feature functions as a highly conditioned phone security identifier. The consumer can scan his or her eyes for use as an alternative password to access owned smartphone device.
Just like the defective Samsung Galaxy Note 7, the upcoming flagship smartphone will have the iris scanner feature but it would be designed in such a way that it would not suffer from the same mistakes that were committed with the Galaxy Note 7.
Sources also say that there are also other interesting features that Samsung has incorporated on the Galaxy S8 such as the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, a 30 megapixels rear camera, and 9.0 megapixels front-facing camera for fans of high-quality selfies and other photos.
Additional specifications that will make the Samsung Galaxy S8 highly recommendable and user-friendly are the 4,200 mAh battery life, and the 64GB and 128GB internal memory storage options and expandable via dual micro SD cards, which users will likely expect from the flagship device.
For Samsung fans who really love taking selfie photos, Samsung Galaxy S8 will also have highly-advanced camera features including optical image stabilization, geo-tagging, facial recognition, HDR, and auto laser focus.
Better than the iPhone 8
There are reports saying the despite Samsung’s current fallout, the company is not only setting their new products and devices just to regain good reputation from consumers but also to beat its closest competitor, which is no other than Apple.
Predictions say that next year will be a good year for Samsung as the company is preparing a flagship smartphone that could very well define its future.
