Some have been claiming that the best thing for the company to do right now is to release some free goodies or promotional materials to distract users from the incident with the Note 7. Some good discounts on their more popular devices definitely wouldn’t hurt if they wanted to get some goodwill back.
But people are definitely not going to forget anytime soon, as the situation was simply too damaging to the reputation of the company to be ignored at the moment. The fact that an alleged replacement device has also exploded definitely didn’t help relieve the stress, and now Samsung are facing more trouble than ever.
One move that could potentially save the company right now, but is also going to cost them a lot, would be to make the battery on their next phone detachable. Some have been claiming that this would have prevented the problems with the Note 7, as it would at least allow users to buy safer replacement batteries.
On the other hand, there were also claims that the problem was caused due to Samsung trying to cram too much performance into the small battery unit of the Note 7, and if the company hadn’t been so “greedy” in this regard, the whole problem wouldn’t have happened in the first place. It’s easy to make such statements in hindsight though, and we wonder what Samsung feel that they could have done differently to improve their situation.
