Samsung has definitely proven itself as a leader in mobile devices, but its competition with Apple is something that’s probably eternal.
New reports claim that Samsung’s flagship designers are focusing on two primary aspects of the Galaxy S7: music delivery, and video output.
According to Gearburn, the first aspect will see the tech giant employ ESS Technology’s audio chip, the SABRE 9018AQ2, which is a pocket-friendly vinyl player and one of the closest-to-analog audio digital chips right now.
As for the second aspect, ValueWalk reports that Samsung is eyeing Tidal as a possible Apple Music competitor. The South Korean smartphone manufacturer is reportedly thinking of placing a takeover bid at rapper Jay-Z’s music streaming service.
The phone is also speculated to mimic Apple’s iPhone 6S and 6S Plus TouchID with their 3D Touch feature. Gearburn reports that Samsung might use Synaptics’ ClearForce contextual touch system in its upcoming device.
This could be a possibility as the hype over the 3D Touch feature made smartphones released this year more interactive than previous models.
Another potential insight the Galaxy S7 could have is that it will come powered with both Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 and an Exynos 8990 chipsets. This is to avoid the flak that the Galaxy S6 received after the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor reportedly had some overheating issues.
