A lot of speculation is currently focused on the Samsung Galaxy S7, but there is little information about when the device is coming to the market. However, right now, most seem to agree that we’re not going to see it in 2015, and it’s likely being planned for a launch around the middle of 2016, if not a bit later. Samsung are known for their love for strict launch schedules, and the company has been maintaining a more or less consistent plan with their S line of smartphones.
With that in mind, what can we expect from the S7’s release? Previously, it was reported that the phone could be ready before the end of 2015 as the main competitor of the iPhone 6s. However, this was met with a lot of speculation, and the source of the news was pointed out as not very legitimate by some as well. There have been various rumors about the device’s launch after that, and some people have been doing their best to analyze the company’s past trends in order to figure out the situation.
There are many reasons to actually believe that the phone isn’t going to come out this year. On one hand, we have the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 coming soon, and a release of the S7 could detract from the attention towards that model. Then we also have the Samsung Galaxy S6 Plus – or at least that’s what the rumors are saying – and if that’s true, it’s self-explanatory why this release would clash with the possible release of the S7.
In fact, if Samsung make an official announcement for the S6 Plus and say that it’s coming this year, this pretty much precludes any possibility of seeing the S7 in 2015. We don’t know much about the rumored S6 Plus yet though – rumors about it have been going around for a while, after they started in May when the device was referred to as “Project Zero 2”. It was later renamed to the Galaxy S6 Plus in the rumors, and not much has been said about the alleged phone since.
What we did hear last was a rumor that it’s going to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB built-in memory. It will also feature a 16 megapixel camera on the back, and a 5 megapixel one on the front. However, it will not come with a stylus pen, even though it’s supposedly going to share some features with Samsung’s other larger devices.
