We’re going to find out what Samsung are planning soon enough, and the company might also increase the frequency of their releases if some other rumors turn out to be true.
They already have a pretty large portion of the market and an active presence in all market segments, so it would make sense that they could want to experiment a little more with different models and even more diverse ranges of devices. The smartphone market is still in a stage where it can see new ideas introduced to it.
This is going to be an important release for Samsung too, as the attention on the Galaxy line is stronger than ever, and people are expecting a lot from the next device in that line.
So our theory from above about Samsung releasing something with just acceptable specifications might not be a very good strategy for the company if they want to justify all that attention, and especially if they want the S7 to be the market-shattering flagship that it should be. After all, a great camera with this new technology would surely be nice, but it’s not all that people want to see in a flagship and it definitely won’t be enough to make a solid overall impression.
