February 15, 2015 will mark the announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S6 release date. It will be done at the Mobile World Event Congress, which will take place exactly a year after the announcement of the S5. There is a lot of work to be done by the South Korean tech giant in order to make the Galaxy S6 stand out among the flagship smartphones of tomorrow.
The Galaxy S5 has been considered to be weaker in performance compared to the other present flagships. Right within 6 months of the S5’s launch, a wide range of more powerful phones was released by different manufacturers. Compared to those, the S5 didn’t stand a chance.
As of now, Samsung has not released any information or even a hint regarding the release of Samsung Galaxy S6. Even then, rumors and speculations have already begun to surface on the internet. One of the primary rumors is that the S6 will come with a full 4K screen resolution.
The rumors indicate that Galaxy S6 will not have a screen size greater than 5 inches. It seems that Samsung wishes to go the Apple way and keep a safe boundary between phones and ‘tablets’. However, in order to compensate for the size, Samsung might include a 4K screen resolution on the S6.
Starting next year, we will see a slew of flagships that are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset supporting CPUs. This is the first 20nm processor from Qualcomm that will directly rival the Exynos 5433 from Samsung and Apple A8 processors. This upcoming chipset will support both 32 and 64-bit OS.
It is of no doubt that this rumored upcoming flagship from Samsung will feature the Android 5.0 Lollipop Operating System. The Samsung Galaxy S6 will run on this operating system and support that further supports 64-bit chipsets. The device may also feature a monster 4GB RAM.
According to rumors, it seems that the Samsung Galaxy S6 will have a 20.7 megapixel primary camera. This will be a significant jump from the 16 megapixel primary shooter currently present in the Galaxy S5. The device might feature a standard 5 megapixel shooter on the front.
Like the fingerprint scanner on the iPhone, this particularly wild rumor indicates that the S6 might come with an iris scanner. If it does, Samsung will have released one of the most secure devices in the smartphone world till date. In the storage capacity, it seems that the Galaxy S6 will start with 32GB internal storage capacity variants. Of course, with this next-generation flagship, you will be right to expect a dust/water resistant device. With a phone packed with so many features, expect a big-sized battery as well.
