Samsung is very likely to bring the Galaxy S6 to the smartphone market next year. When that happens, consumers are going to get a chance to see the fastest smartphones on the planet, if at least one rumors holds true. Samsung has been releasing top of the line smartphones for many years now and each time, the hardware gets a boost and consumers get out the wallet. With larger displays and faster processors with every new model, it is hard for companies to keep up with the demands from consumers.
The rumor that has people talking online this week is that the Samsung Galaxy s6 could come with support for category 10 cellular connectivity. That type of connection would be coming from an Exynos 7 Octa core processor that features LTE-A support. LTE-A is the next step in upload and download speeds for smartphone and tablet users. Category 10 LTE-Advanced could reach speeds up to 450 Mb/s according to one rumor. That would easily be the fastest data download on the market.
Samsung is reportedly working on its own internal modem and that is partly to blame for the super fast download support. The information is not confirmed by Samsung, which it never is, so things could change by the time the actual release date rolls around. With the Consumer Electronics Show coming up soon, the odds are pretty good that consumers looking to upgrade will be keeping their eye open for the spec sheet on the new smartphone.
Qualcomm, a processor maker, did recently announce that it would be upgrading the modem that is inside the Snapdragon 810 processor and that will reportedly support the same download speeds of LTE-A, but will not allow for 100 Mb/s upload. Instead the processor tops out at 50 Mb/s upload speeds. According to rumors posted online, the new Samsung Galaxy S6 will be equipped with the Snapdragon 810 processor and that comes with support for category 9 LTE-A, not category 10. As you can see, the rumors are all twisted and they will be that way until Samsung makes an official announcement.
The Galaxy S6 will be released in the early part of next year, as long as the plan stays similar to the releases in the past. It will be put right up against the iPhone from Apple, the G3 from LG and even the HTC One M9 when it arrives on the market. Samsung typically does not comment on any smartphone matters for devices that have yet to be released. The company goes into hiding during this time of the year with hopes of not revealing anything through interviews or comment sessions.
