Samsung Galaxy S4 Owners Can Now Upgrade to Android 6.0 and Enjoy Improvements Thanks to CyanogenMod!

Android 5.0 was a more controversial release, as Google tried doing some things with the operating system that didn’t prove so successful with their fans, and in the end they had to revise their plans.

The company’s approach to the operating system in Android 6.0 has been changed somewhat and the system is now much more compatible with a wider range of devices, instead of being hungry for processing power like Android 5.0 was. That was a common complaint towards the previous major version of the operating system, and something that Google have been working hard to fix.

Now, it’s been reported that Android 6.0 works far better on various devices compared to 5.0, so those who used to have trouble with Jellybean are advised to try upgrading to Marshmallow to see if their device will get back to a usable state.

In cases where 6.0 is not available officially yet, there are always custom ROMs as we described above, and the ROM community has been hard at work to keep various devices up to date despite the fact that their manufacturers have given up on them. In some cases, a custom ROM is actually the only way to get more recent versions of Android on certain devices, and this is something that the Android community has gotten used to over time.
