In the battle between Samsung Galaxy Note Edge vs. Samsung Galaxy Note 4, the only differences surface in terms of design. Feature-wise both the devices are similar, and there is not much to compare between them.
What we gather from the situation is that, Samsung is not ready to hand over 2014 to Apple, as both these devices can easily be termed as “iPhone killers.” The Galaxy Note Edge features a Quad HD 5.6-inch touchscreen display packing in 2,560 x 1,440p resolution.
It’s powered by a Quad-Core 2.7 GHz processor and features 3 GB of RAM along with built-in 32 GB memory. It has a 16 MP primary camera alongside a 3.7 MP secondary lens. The device runs on Android 4.4 KitKat.
The Galaxy Note 4 features a Quad HD SuperAMOLED 5.7-inch touch screen display packing in a superior 2,560 x 1,440p resolution. It features 3 GB of RAM and incorporates a 16 MP Primary Camera alongside a 7 MP secondary camera.
In terms of external design, the Galaxy Note Edge takes the cake with its futuristic borderless aesthetics that offers extended space. The Galaxy Note 4, on the other hand, provides additional style and comfort with a soft and textured rear panel that provides superior grip.
The Galaxy Note 4 is scheduled to hit retailers by October 17th while pre-orders are currently underway. However, the device is already plagued by problems such as the ‘GapGate’ issue.
This problem has been detected by the same group that had started the “BendGate” issue with Apple’s iPhone 6. According to this report the side metallic panel of the Note 4 is wide enough to fit a piece of paper. Samsung was however quick to respond to this issue.
“The reported issue does not affect the quality or functionality of the device in any way. We would like to assure customers and fans alike that the Galaxy Note 4 strictly meets every manufacturing criterion and quality control standards.” The official statement reads.
While the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is pitched against the Apple iPhone 6, the Galaxy Note Edge caters to an entirely new market segment.
