The Galaxy Note line has always been a bit of a niche smartphone, at least compared to the main Galaxy – with that in mind, it might not be completely reasonable to expect these phones to sell as much as the main flagships.
But still, some see a lot of unrealized potential in the Note brand, and it would be interesting to see what Samsung can do with these devices if they put more focus on the Note 6. The opportunity is ripe for the taking, and if it’s not Samsung that realizes it, someone else surely will.
It’s a great time to release a phone focused on increased productivity and with a bulkier design right now, as there has been a lot of focus on the concept of getting work done on the go.
Other companies are actually putting their efforts in the other direction – making their phones smaller and more compact – and while there is a crowd for that too, it seems like most people are now open to the idea of almost replacing their computers with handheld devices with a pocket form factor. Whether the typical smartphone of today is a good candidate for that is a different story, but the Note definitely has a strong potential to make an impression on those people.
If Sammy comes out with a Note 6 with an Edge varient as in S7 (6 GB Ram, 128 inbuild memory, 256 expandable, 4K display) then I’ve already told my Sammy shop guy to pre-book it for me even without asking me, and then he can tell me has pre-booked it for me. The most important thing I want is a Note 6 Edge. Those georgeous sexy Edges…!!! I’ll give my right hand for it.
