The Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is still largely a mystery, but there are plenty of rumors about the device all over the web. While most of them contradict each other on certain points, some details keep popping up in different places indicating that there might be some truth to them. In any case, the success of some recent releases of the company has had a positive impact on the discussions about the Note 6, with many people expecting the new device to inherit some more recent features.
According to some rumors, it’s possible that the phone will come with 6 GB of RAM, which, combined with the rumored Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 would make this a serious powerhouse of a smartphone. Some are disputing the legitimacy of those rumors, claiming that it wouldn’t make much sense for a company to opt for that much RAM in today’s market, but the situation has been changing fast and Android has become quite the demanding operating system.
The most recent major version of the OS made that point even more valid, requiring more capable hardware to run properly. On the other hand, Samsung are known for adding some heavy modifications on top of the core Android system, which would make the need for more RAM even more valid.
One of the interesting rumors talks about a 4000 mAh battery – a large unit for a smartphone, but we’ve already seen batteries of this capacity in even cheaper devices (e.g. by Lenovo), so it’s not out of the question. Battery life has been a major topic among smartphone fans lately, and if Samsung deliver something that gives a satisfying usage time this could definitely attract some people to their new release.
Last but not least, there have been some arguments over whether or not Samsung should deliver the device with a 4K display. On one hand, some see it as a natural progression of the current trends, and they also point out that it would be necessary for the device to work properly with the Gear VR. On the other hand, some see it as an unnecessary step up from a resolution that’s already more than comfortable for the needs of the average user, and the debate doesn’t have a reasonable conclusion in sight. It’s true that a larger resolution would have a negative impact on battery life, however.
In any case, most people are expecting Samsung to pay much more attention to this release than they did to the previous one in the Note line. The Note 5 saw good reviews and was adored by most fans of the company, but it didn’t meet expectations on the financial side. With a slightly stronger marketing push and the right combination of hardware components, the Note 6 could do things differently and achieve the wide market reach that Samsung were probably hoping for last time. The company still has a lot of potential on this market and a huge following of fans, so they should have no problem getting the right results if they focus more strongly on the product.
What could Samsung do to make the Note 6 a more attractive choice than its predecessor? The lack of an SD card slot was met with a lot of criticism by some fans, as was the non-removable battery. Of course, if the Note 6 comes with a good enough battery capacity this would be a moot point, but the issue with memory expansion still stands. Today it’s more important than ever to give users the opportunity to increase the storage space of their smartphones, especially with the recent trends in Android.

If Sammy comes out with a Note 6 with an Edge varient as in S7 (6 GB Ram, 128 inbuild memory, 256 expandable, 4K display) then I’ve already told my Sammy shop guy to pre-book it for me even without asking me, and then he can tell me has pre-booked it for me. The most important thing I want is a Note 6 Edge. Those georgeous sexy Edges…!!! I’ll give my right hand for it.
