Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) Priming Itself to Become This Year’s Top Trending Smartphone!

Last year, Samsung Galaxy J7 became the undisputed most trending phone. It is still the top trending phone this year until three weeks ago when it was finally dislodged from its lofty spot by the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3.

However, the big story is no longer the Samsung Galaxy J7 but its successor, the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016), which now ranks as the third top trending smartphone next only to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and the Galaxy J7, reports the GSM Arena.

It seems clear that the Galaxy J7 (2016) is priming itself to make the jump and overtake its predecessor and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 soon, if not sooner, and eventually become the year’s top trending smartphone.

The momentum of the Galaxy J7 (2016) is very evident when it jumped five spots from 8th spot last week to a podium finish this week.

Interestingly, five smartphones from the Samsung Galaxy J series made it to the list of top 10 trending smartphones this week including the Samsung Galaxy J7 at No. 2, the Galaxy J7 (2016) at No. 3, the Galaxy J5 at No. 4, the Galaxy J3 (2016) at No. 5, and the Galaxy J2 at No. 9.

Samsung’s current flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge, are at No. 6 and No. 7, respectively.

Lenovo has two entries in the roster including the Lenovo Vibe K4 Note at No. 8, and the Lenovo ZUK Z1 rounding up the top 10 list at No. 10.

The Galaxy J5 (2016) is at No. 11 and given how popular it is turning out to be like its predecessor, it is expected to dislodge the Lenovo ZUK Z1 and enable Samsung to have six members of its J series smartphones in the roster and eight overall.

Exchange offer in India

The Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) and the Galaxy J5 (2016) are currently being offered for a little less than $50 in India through an exchange offer.

Both midrange smartphones were launched exclusively on Flipkart last week with the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) having a price of about $240 while the Galaxy J5 (2016) valued at $209, reports The Times of India.

The 2016 versions of the Galaxy J7 and the Galaxy J5 have been touted previously to come out in June, which shall mark one year after their respective predecessors came out on the market.

While their respective specifications, capabilities, and features have already made the rounds on the internet, their prices were not yet officially made available by the Korean tech company.

The midrange smartphones were officially announced in China that critics believe that those shall only be made available in the country.

However, it seems that Samsung made the unveiling in China because much of its major competitors in the midrange smartphone category are in the country and if it wanted to make a splash in the segment, it needed to face the competition head-on.

That’s in addition to the fact that China is the biggest market for midrange smartphones, followed by India, with North America at third.

Not just for China but for the entire world

Eventually, it becomes clear that Samsung shall also launch the Galaxy J7 (2016) and the Galaxy J5 (2016) in major global smartphone retail markets in the world.

With less than a month to go before its launching, Samsung has finally unveiled the official price of the two midrange smartphones at its home market in Korea.

Accordingly the Galaxy J7 (2016) will come out in June with a price of $315 while the Galaxy J5 (2016) shall be valued at $255. At these prices, the latest of Samsung’s smartphones on its J series shall be competitively priced, which means that it will give its competitors a run for the consumers’ money not only in China but in other smartphone retail markets in the world.
