Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) Expected to Do Well in the Indian Mid-Range Smartphone Market, More Details

Samsung has officially unveiled the 2016 editions of the Galaxy J7 and the Galaxy J5 last month but the Korean tech giant has yet to make a statement or an announcement with regards to the official release date of the mid-range smartphones in retail markets in different parts of the world.

According to the International Business Times of India, the Galaxy J7 (2016) has already appeared on the Zauba website, which tracks imports and exports in India.

Many critics believe that the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) will do well in the Indian market the way its predecessor did when it was officially released in June of last year.

However, the array of competition for the Galaxy J7 (2016) will be tougher as it will be up against the likes of the Motorola Moto X Play, OnePlus X, Lenovo Vibe S1, and Xiaomi Mi 4.

Samsung has also yet to announce the price of the Galaxy J7 (2016) when it comes out in the market most likely in June after its predecessor completes its customary one-year market cycle.

In terms of price, the Galaxy J7 (2016) is expected to come out more expensive than the OnePlus X, the Lenovo Vibe S1, and the Xiaomi Mi 4 but a bit cheaper compared to the Motorola Moto X Play.

High-end specifications for a mid-range handset

The Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) or the Korean tech giant’s 2016 editions of its J series smartphones are actually mid-range handsets that come with high-end specifications.

The Galaxy J7 (2016) is powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core processor and comes with a 3GB of RAM and an internal storage that can actually be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card slot. It shall also have a generous and removable 3,300 mAh battery, notes the NDTV Gadgets.

The smartphone also comes with a metal frame and has a 5.5-inch full HD Super-AMOLED touchscreen with 1,080 x 1,920 pixels screen resolution and a superb pixel density of 401 ppi.

It is also expected that when the Galaxy J7 (2016) finally comes out to the markets soon, it shall have the Android 5.1 Lollipop onboard.

The smartphone shall come with a 13-megapixel main camera with f/1.9 aperture, autofocus, and LED flash. It shall also have a 5-megapixel front snapper with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash.

A quiet launch

Samsung has officially but quietly launched the 2016 versions of its Galaxy J7 and Galaxy J5 mid-range smartphones in China recently and it will eventually make it to the retail markets in a couple of months’ time or around the time when its predecessors complete their one-year market cycle in June.

Prior to the official unveiling of the latest iterations to two its J-series handsets, most of the reports about the Galaxy J7 (2016) and the Galaxy J5 (2016) were based on leaks, rumors, and speculations.

The latest mid-range smartphones from the Korean tech giant featured improved specifications from their respective predecessors. They also come with a sturdy and sculpted metal unibody, making them similar to the Galaxy A series smartphones of Samsung.

One thing that is sure to catch the fancy of consumers with the new Galaxy J7 and the Galaxy J5 is that their prices will actually approximate that of its predecessors, making them extremely competitive in the mid-range smartphone market.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) is obviously the best device in the Korean tech giant’s Galaxy J-series lineup.

It is available in unique colors including sand gold, silver, white, and metallic pink. Most of the specifications prior to the launch of the device were right on cue.
