Samsung Galaxy Grand 3 Details Possibly Leaked!

The Galaxy Grand 2 by Samsung was a pretty popular release, and the device has been enjoying lots of positive attention ever since it came out one year ago. The company is currently gearing up for the release of the next device in the line, the Galaxy Grand 3, and while not much is known about it officially so far, there have been various rumors, and lately, a leak allegedly revealed details about the upcoming smartphone.

According to the new information, there is a new device by Samsung that hasn’t been given a market name yet, and is only known by its model code – SM-G7200. This was revealed when the device went through the TENNA certification process in China, a mandatory certification procedure for smartphone manufacturers who want to be involved in that market.

And according to PhoneArena, this is actually the Galaxy Grand 3, though the company hasn’t confirmed that officially so far. However, if the rumors are true, then the device seems to have quite the nice set of features, and is a good step up from the Grand 2 in terms of specifications. It will have a 5.25” screen running at a 1280×720 resolution, which would contradict previous rumors of a 5.5” display. It will also have a 1.2 GHz processor, 1.5 GB of RAM, and a 13 megapixel rear camera.

Strangely enough, it’s also rumored to ship with Android 4.4.4, not 5.0 as most smartphones coming out today. This might indicate that the device isn’t planned to be very powerful, and indeed the Grand is a medium-range line of smartphones, not a high-end brand name. Still, some users have expressed disappointment at the revelation, stating that they would potentially not be interested in purchasing the device if the rumors turn out to be true. Of course, there’s always the possibility that Samsung will release an official update later on, but then, it’s Samsung, and they’re not particularly known for handling their Android updates very quickly.

Samsung Galaxy S5 vs. Samsung Galaxy Grand 2

In the end, the Grand 3 will likely do what it’s supposed to do quite nicely, and if it retains the same price point, it will be a good entry in the market by Samsung, despite the questionable choice with the operating system. Additional rumors indicate that the company is gearing up to make the official announcement shortly, so those who’re wondering whether they should save their money for a Galaxy Grand 3 should wait a few weeks and see if Samsung really will reveal the specifications soon. Otherwise, keep an eye out for more rumors, as there is probably more information coming through unofficial channels soon enough, judging by recent developments.
