Samsung Galaxy A9 is Practically the Galaxy S6 in a Much Larger Package, Making it a Smartphone that is Easy to Love!

Samsung has been known to bring its flagship design language to the rest of its smartphone roster, which is why it is not surprising to see the Galaxy A9 looking like an oversized Galaxy S6 without the curves on the back.

The Korean tech giant refreshed its Galaxy A series at the end of last year with new midrange smartphones in the series, borrowing heavily from the design language and construction of the company’s flagship smartphone of 2015, notes the Android Authority.

Samsung launched the 2016 iteration of four smartphones of its Galaxy A series with upgraded models of the Galaxy A3, the Galaxy A5, the Galaxy A7, and the Galaxy A9.

The Galaxy A series are non-flagship smartphones but offer excellent hardware and a giant 4,000 mAh battery to ensure longevity and the best endurance among the latest smartphone lines of the Korean tech giant.

Of the four latest handsets of its Galaxy A series, the Samsung Galaxy A9 is the biggest of them all, featuring an enormous 6-inch screen with a superb resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

It also features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 chipset along with 3GB of RAM and an internal storage of 32GB although it has an option for expansion via its microSD card slot.

Just like its sister phones, the Samsung Galaxy A9 came out preloaded with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

The Samsung Galaxy A9 also features a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera that also offers support for optical image stabilization. It also has an 8-megapixel front-facing snapper, notes the GSM Arena

The handset also comes with a fingerprint sensor and comes in four color variants including white, black, gold, and pink.

A premium midrange smartphone

Samsung describes the Galaxy A9 as falling squarely in the premium midrange smartphone category.

The smartphone offers almost everything that the Galaxy S6 is capable of providing, but in a much larger package. As such, battery life and expandable storage are no longer issues with the Galaxy A9 as much as they do in the Galaxy S6.

While the display resolution and camera of the Galaxy A9 have been downgraded vis-à-vis the Galaxy S6, the midrange smartphone performs just as well as the Korean tech giant’s other high-end smartphones, making it a handset that is so easy to love.

In terms of the smartphone’s advantages according to critics, the Galaxy A9 features premium metal and glass construction, similar to the current flagships of the Korean tech giant. It has a very large and vibrant display. It also has a fingerprint scanner and it also performs excellently fast.

As for its downsides, the Galaxy A9 has lower pixel density compared to the flagship smartphones of Samsung, which may actually turn away some prospective users. It also experiences occasional home screen lag issues and also has a very weak speaker.

Excellent overall rating

Based on the different aspects of battery, display, camera, performance, software, and design, the Galaxy A9 rated 8.4 up to 9.6 from a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the highest. The lowest rating of 8.4 was understandably is on its camera while its highest rating of 9.6 is on its bigger and longer-life battery. Overall, however, the rating of the Galaxy A9 is a remarkable 9.0.

The Samsung Galaxy A9 is being retailed for close to $600, which is quite high for a midrange smartphone. But considering its flagship specifications and features, its price somehow makes sense especially among the more insightful and equitable consumers.
