The rumored relationship of Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone may have not gained traction when it came out following the breakup of the actress with her boyfriend Andrew Garfield in October 2015, but the pair is certainly raking it in terms of critical acclaims, citations and awards for their latest movie together, “La La Land.”
Released in theaters in December last year, “La La Land” has practically dominated the awards season with Ryan Gosling often running away as Best Actor and Emma Stone, getting the nod for Best Actress.
In fact, during the 2017 Golden Globe Awards last month, Emma Stone won as Best Actress for a Musical while Ryan Gosling also won as Best Actor for a Musical.
They are both nominated for acting awards in the upcoming Academy Awards slated on February 26 although the rumors are saying that Emma Stone has better chances of wining the Best Actress plum than Ryan Gosling getting an Oscar for Best Actor.
Just having fun from it all
Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling are in the midst of awards season, and unsurprisingly, it looks like they could not be having more fun, especially considering that they are almost raking everything in.
The pair stepped out together at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival last week, where they were honored with the Outstanding Performers of the Year award.
In addition to sharing a few laughs and cute moments on stage, Emma revealed that she didn’t think she could sing before “La La Land,” saying that she stopped doing musicals when she was young because she thought that she couldn’t sing.
She explained that she started taking voice lessons, and she was so happy to take on “La La Land.” She said that they practiced dancing, and Ryan perfected playing jazz piano. She also disclosed that Ryan practiced three hours a day for three months, reports Pop Sugar.
Treating each other like teammates
In a recent interview, Emma Stone also talked about the first time that she and Ryan Gosling auditioned for “Crazy, Stupid, Love,” their first movie together.
She said that she instantly felt like they were teammates. She said that it was so easy for her and Ryan to improvise together, details Just Jared.
While both are waiting for the Oscar ceremonies, the pair is continuing their award ceremony sweep.
Before accepting their latest awards during the Santa Barbara International Film Festival last week, Emma and Ryan chatted about the film on stage, and talked about the challenges and the fun of doing the movie together, which is actually their third pairing together. They also appeared in “Gangster Land” after doing “Crazy, Stupid Love.”
“La La Land” swept the 74th annual Golden Globe Awards last month and made history. The musical drama won all seven of the awards for which it received nominations
The film brought home awards including Best Motion Picture for Musical or Comedy, Best Director and Best Screenplay for Damien Chazelle, Best Score, Best Original Song for “City of Stars” and acting awards for Gosling and Stone.

The annual awards ceremony took place at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. Host Jimmy Fallon kicked off the show with a taped skit that ripped off “La La Land” singing along Nicole Kidman and Amy Adams.
His monolog also included some political humor, noting that the Golden Globe is one of the few award-giving bodies left that still honors the popular vote.
Other winners for the night for movies were “Moonlight,” which won Best Motion Picture, and Disney’s “Zootopia,” which won Best Animated Feature Film.
Casey Affleck won as Best Actor in a Motion Picture for Drama, while Aaron Taylor-Johnson got the Best Supporting Actor award.
