Several fans have started an online petition in the hopes of changing Tris’ fate in the movie version, but the producers, Roth, and even Woodley herself have stated that the final installment will play by the book.
Speaking to MTV, the Chicago-based author talked about creating such an ending to the series. She explains that what happened to Tris in the novel was an essential element especially after what she had gone through in “Divergent” and “Insurgent.”
The author went on saying that the ending has to be about love. It’s a mere representation that Tris finally understood what her parents taught her in Abnegation and what it means to be an adult who makes sacrifices.
Meanwhile, five months shy of “Divergent: Allegiant” premiere, the special collector’s edition of the third book of the Veronica Roth trilogy came out last week.
As per Latino Post, “The Allegiant Collector’s Edition” features 48 pages of bonus content that include deleted scenes and significant excerpts from the journal of Natalie Prior, the mother of Tris and Caleb.
Entertainment Weekly teases that a scene that didn’t make the final cut of “Divergent: Allegiant” called “Strike First, Strike Hard” can be read in the collector’s edition. Roth recalls that it was difficult for her to wipe out that entire scene from the book.
