Talking about the situation, Westbrook said that whatever has happened is done, and that is the nature of the game. He said that his prime focus is to play and he doesn’t play to get All-Star bids, he plays to win championships and every night he tries to better himself. He knows that as long as he is doing what he needs to and playing the way he does, everything will work out.
Westbrook added that winning the players’ vote does matter a lot to him, but it doesn’t change anything. It is a great honor, but he knows he has to continue playing like he does to become a better player and win championships for his team.
In other news from the All-Star Game, Steve Kerr from the Golden State Warriors will coach the Western Conference in the 19th February All-Star Game. This news comes after the Warriors ended with a top record in their games.
Kerr will become the second coach in the history of the Warriors to be asked to coach the Western Conference twice. He had previously helped the team get a 163-158 victory in the 2015 All-Star Game.
Kerr said that he was disappointed with the roster and wanted the voting to be taken a little more seriously.
