“Rookie Blue” had a successful run during its six seasons, but it looks like the show is coming to an end as ABC have decided to not extent its contract for a seventh season. This has disappointed many fans of the production, as can be expected, and now that the news is official, fans have been talking about the good times they had with the show and reflecting on the best episodes that they saw for it. “Rookie Blue” definitely had some great moments and it will leave a lasting mark on television, and even though it didn’t manage to go on for another season, many fans seem to have the opinion that the run it had was more or less enough as it covered the most important plot details.
On the other hand, some fans have also been examining the show’s more interesting and unique aspects, such as some of the peculiar ways in which it handles its plot, and there have been some serious discussions about those things and how they could work out for other productions on the screen.
For example, the way characters were handled in “Rookie Blue” was seen as very attentive by the writers and producers, as each character was given his/her own unique personality, fleshed out in multiple dimensions. Even more minor characters were given sufficient attention on the show, and the writers were obviously trying to make everyone feel as alive as possible when they were coming up with the designs of each character.
Everyone had their own unique quirks in their personality, and this was one of the more charming details of the show that some fans adored. They were all far from perfect, unlike characters on some other shows which tend to be presented as flawless and close to superheroes in order to give them a nice image for fans. The final result is often that these characters feel hard to believe and associate with.
“Rookie Blue”, on the other hand, didn’t have that problem, as the show did a great job of keeping its characters feeling fresh and alive. They also had some interesting conflicts to deal with, and weren’t drawn in the typical arguments that we often see on TV shows nowadays. All in all, the show did have something special in the line-up of its characters and it wasn’t just another TV show.
The way the plot ran through some of the episodes was also notable for being a bit more unique and flexible, and some fans loved discussing the show’s story on the Internet, speculating on how it could continue and what kinds of interesting plot twists the writers might be planning. While the show didn’t actually throw that many surprises in its plot, it did occasionally puzzle its fans with some developments that were far less than expected. Thankfully though, the way season 6 ended didn’t really leave any cliffhangers for fans and resolved the most important plot lines.
The show’s own producers are apparently also convinced that it’s a good time to end the production right now, and they are seemingly happy with how things have turned out and what they’ve managed to do with the show until its end. They also appreciated the success that the show enjoyed, according to what we’ve seen, and there doesn’t seem to be a sentiment of negativity among the producers over the cancellation. Quite on the contrary, they seem motivated for their future ventures.
