Rookie Blue Season 7 Cancellation Already Known by Series Producers After Season 5 Last Year!

The supposed filming for Season 6 has been completed early last year or even before Season 5 premiered on Global in Canada and ABC in the US, so technically, there was no filming done at all for Season 6 as those 11 episodes were supposed to be for the fifth season only.

Another obvious reason for the cancellation of “Rookie Blue” is its lowest ratings in its six seasons on the air.

Season 6 of “Rookie Blue” posted an average of 3.5 million viewers for its 11-episode run. While it is a good figure, it was actually the lowest for the TV series during its six-year run on the small screen.

The TV series did maintain its loyal viewers, but it actually recorded its lowest ratings during its last few episodes on ABC, giving its direct competition in the 10 pm timeslot, CBS’s “Under the Dome” a clear advantage in viewership.

Among the cast members of “Rookie Blue,” actress Missy Peregrym was the first to speak about the decision of ABC to cancel the TV series.

Peregrym took to her personal blog to share her thoughts about the news and admitted to having struggled accepting it first.

She said that she spent a good deal of time to grieve and say goodbye to an important part of her life. But she says that despite the sad news, she has decided to stay positive about it.
