‘Rookie Blue’ Season 6 All Set to Get a Surprise Twist; Season 7 Still Uncertain

Season 3 premiered on May 24, 2012, on Global TV. The cast was joined by Peter Mooney, who brought the character of Officer Nick Collins to the show. In addition to Mooney, actress Melanie Nicholls-King was promoted to become a series regular. But the cast was also cut with the departure of the character Eric Johnson, played by Noah Jenkins. The first episode of Season 3 netted 6.09 million viewers.

Season 4 premiered on May 23, 2013, on Global TV in Canada. The main cast was joined by actresses Priscilla Faia and Rachel Ancheril, even as Melanie Nicholls-King was relegated to being a recurring guest star. The first episode of the season titled “Surprises” had a total of 5.99 million viewers while the final and 13th episode had a total number of 4.71 million viewers.

Season 5 was announced on March 24, 2014, on ABC and ET Canada. The series premiered on June 19, 2014, on ABC, while Global TV set the premiere date on May 19. Director Tassie Cameron announced that the second half of Season 5 would become Season 6 and start airing this year.  The first episode of Season 5 has rounded a figure of 5.92 million viewers, and the last episode called “Everlasting” generated a total of  5.31 million viewers.

Season 6 was originally produced as Season 5 that should have consisted of 22 episodes. However, the eleven remaining episodes from season 5 have been renamed into Season 6. The first episode “Open Windows” aired on June 24 and earned  a total number of 3.76 million viewers.
