Ronda Rousey is upset that Walmart will be doing some form of censorship to her upcoming book titled “My Fight, Your Fight” when it is officially release for retailing on May 12.
Reports earlier this week said that the American retail giant is looking to sell Ronda Rousey’s book alright but it is not planning to put it on its display shelves at its retail stores because it is reportedly too violent.
It was really surprising for Walmart to come up with such a strategy for Rousey’s memoir and for saying point blank that it was too violent yet it is still selling guns and ammunitions and has plenty of display shelves on its stores for it.
A spokesperson for Walmart averred that the idea of selling the book online would be good for the book in the long term since items on the online store sells better than those being displayed on its retail stores.
Success is best revenge
Ronda Rousey responded to Walmart’s decision by saying that the retail giant should just watch the success of the book from the sidelines.
On her recent post on Instagram, Rousey said that success is the best revenge, which she has learned from fighting and also helped her fight through life’s battles off the mat and outside the octagon.
She added that Walmart is welcome to watch the success of the publication from the sidelines if they choose. She was obviously alluding to the hypocritical strategy of the retail giant for her memoir. Rowdy, as she is often called, is very confident that her memoir will also sell like hotcakes in other retail stores and major bookstores too.
Knows success too well
If there’s anybody who knows the meaning of true success, it is no other than Ronda Rousey. The former Olympic medallist, current movie star, and undefeated UFC women’s bantamweight champion, is now a byword in today’s pop culture just a few short years after breaking into the limelight, notes Yahoo! Sports.
Her last two title defences in the UFC lasted no more than 30 seconds combined. She is set to defend her title again on August 1 on the UFC 190 to be held in Brazil against another undefeated woman fighter Bethe Correia. Rowdy is regarded as very unstoppable when it comes to the sport of mixed martial arts.
As a movie star, Rousey has a couple of major blockbusters already tucked under her belt. She was the only female lead in “Expendables 3.” Her latest movie “Fast & Furious 7” is currently on a rampage at the box-office and is already hyped to become the next billion dollar club blockbuster. The 28-year-old Rousey is also expected to shine in her long-awaited film titled “Entourage” hitting theaters this summer.
