Roku 4 Playing Soon in Living Rooms Beginning This Fall

Out with the old and in with the new. That seems to be the premise behind the release of the top-of-the-line media streaming device Roku 4 this coming fall, and take over the reign from the highly-successful run by the Roku 3 since it came out on March 2013.

As the latest iteration to the media streaming device, Roku 4 promises to bring along great improvements from the Roku 3 considering that it has been over two years in development.

Although Roku has yet to make an official announcement to confirm or deny reports about the Roku 4, there have already been speculations in the tech community that the device will come out within six months time from April, but three months at the earliest, which is just about within the fall season, details wTVPC.

Long overdue

There are plenty of good reasons why Roku 4 will be playing soon in living rooms all across the globe, even though the American tech company based in Saratoga, California has yet to come out with official specifics about it.

Roku users, particularly those using Roku 3, have been longing for an upgrade or a new model of the media streaming device. Not that Roku 3 has outlived its usefulness but two years in the tech community without any upgrade can actually be considered eons or ages ago.

It is imperative for Roku to come up with an updated version of the device pretty soon because otherwise, many of its users will look for more modern alternatives to it.

Roku must be mindful of the fact that there are plenty of alternatives in the market these days that are certainly very competitive than Roku 3 so infusing Roku 4 into the market and bringing with it tons of improvements can save and protect its established consumer niche.

Competitions galore

With the recent advent of 4K TV and the so-called ‘internet of things,’ Roku is now under serious threat if it does not do something to come up with a new offering from its end too.

The competition now includes the American tech giant Apple who is planning to make a new offering pretty soon via its Apple TV. That’s in addition to internet TV services now being offered and gaining so much ground among consumers nowadays.

Big name manufacturers and upstart tech companies are also joining the bandwagon as they all prepare to roll out their respective new media streaming products by next year. And the only way for Roku to pre-empt or beating them all to the draw is by releasing Roku 4 this fall, or at the latest before the end of 2015.
