Last but not least, Roku are still going to maintain those old devices, at least for the time being, as they are preparing to release various software updates for their older models that are reportedly going to add some of the newly released features to those devices as well.
This should further add to the value of the old Roku models as an investment, and people might start showing a lot of interest in the line in general.
If nothing else, this should at least allow Roku to retain a relevant position on the market in the long run, instead of falling victim to the rising popularity of their competitors.
After all, Roku might have been first on this market, but this is no guarantee that they are going to continue enjoying the kind of popularity they had in the beginning, unless they start to actively upgrade their models and improve their offers. People want more and more from a TV streaming box nowadays, and if Roku want to avoid falling behind and into obscurity, they must remain very active in their work on improving their devices. Thankfully, they seem well aware of that fact and have been putting in the kind of effort that they need to.
