Roku 4 Becomes America’s Favorite Living Room Device Along with its Predecessor, the Roku 3!

Roku 4 has been launched by the American digital media products company based in Los Gatos, California in October last year.

The streaming device has lived up to the hype as the best video streaming gadget that money can buy and it offered more options than any of its competitor in the market today.

In just a short time following its launch, the Roku 4 has become America’s favorite living room device along with its predecessor, the Roku 3, reports Tech Radar.

Critics believe that if users would want to experience streaming at its best, they should have either of the two devices or both if they want to.

Roku 4 is very ideal for those who own a Roku 4 TV because it offers Ultra-HD. As of this time, the device has yet to be launched outside of the US but it is almost sure that the American digital media products company is seriously considering and contemplating on it.

Discounted price in Amazon

When the Roku 4 was officially released to the market, it came out with a retail price of $129.99. Perhaps because of the strong competition and also due to the very affordable Roku Streaming Stick released recently, the device is now being offered by Amazon at $119.88 including shipping.

At the reduced price, the buyer can have a savings of $10.11 or about 8% discount.

Amazon brandishes the streaming device as something that features over 2,500 streaming channels where users can choose from the biggest selection of streaming entertainment from movies, TV shows, music, sports, news, international, kids programming, and more.

The device also has the voice search capability that no other streaming device today offers. The enhanced remote of the Roku 4 will give comprehensive search results by title, actor, or director.

The Roku 4 also works with virtually any TV with an HDMI connection. The device can be plugged directly into the TV or receiver depending on user preference.

Up against immense pressure

When it was released late last year, the Roku 4 lived up to the hype and ran away to become the best video streaming system money can buy.

While it was up against an immense pressure considering that its predecessor, the Roku 3, was previously regarded as the gold standard in streaming when it came out in 2013, the Roku 4 proved beyond reasonable doubt that it was a worthy successor that deserves to take on the mantle.

The streaming device offered more options than any of its competitors. It is also faster, well-rounded, and more open than any product that the American digital media products company has released in the past.

The Roku 4 actually borrowed from the superb features of its predecessor and added some more capabilities in equal measure to make it a great streaming device.

More importantly, the Roku 4 has added to the obvious streaming device supremacy of the American digital media products company.

However, some critics believe that the Roku 4 offered only minor improvements compared to how good the Roku 3 came out.

While the device allows one to play 4K TV shows and movies, it does not support HDR content. There is also little storage on the Roku 4 when compared to other streaming systems given its 256MB storage.

But unlike other streaming devices, games are very sparse with the Roku 4 and individual channels don’t take up much space on their own.

The slimmer profile of the Roku 4 and the addition of high-powered hardware have introduced two new problems that were not there in the Roku 3, which are heat and noise.

Even when the Roku 4 is not playing a TV show, there is an audible humming noise coming from the box. It would be a major concern if the streaming device is placed in the living room next to a noisy game system like the Xbox One or the PlayStation 4.
