One thing that’s crystal clear from all previews of the film so far though, is that the producers are not treating it like a simple project that will work out on its own due to its name alone.
They could have done just that, and maybe it would have even worked out. After all, it wouldn’t take too much effort to please fans of “Star Wars” who are hungry for any kind of new content at the moment. Although, after the initial excitement wears off, the producers would likely quickly find themselves facing a lot of criticism.
There are less than two months to go before the film hits the screens, and while it’s not exactly a new episode in the main saga, it should still fill the gap quite nicely until “Episode 8” arrives.
It might also give us some extra hints about the new film too, and we actually wouldn’t be surprised if the producers of “Rogue One” have intentionally hidden certain details like that in it. It won’t take long for fans to spot those hints, as people following the “Star Wars” franchise tend to be very observant, and we’ve already seen various incidents in the past where they’ve quickly caught on to a hint by the producers.
This is even more valid today, when fans have access to such easy communication about every little detail and rumor about their favorite productions that they see.
