While developer Rockstar Games has yet to make a formal announcement regarding the sixth installment of its very successful open world action-adventure “Grand Theft Auto” video game franchise, there have already been speculations that “GTA 6” would likely come out between 2018 and 2020.
Given this timetable, it is also likely that Rockstar would only be able to make an official announcement of the game anytime from 2016 to 2017, notes the Realty Today.
Recent reports about ‘GTA 6’ having a new female character are mere speculations at this time as well as the rumored settings for the game that have been swirling around since last year.
But gamers have known Rockstar Games long enough to know that while the developer does not like to go on making official announcement, pronouncement, or statement about its upcoming game or updates or DLCs to its existing games, it does like to tease a lot by way of third party sources, usually in the form of so-called leaks.
This has been the case for the long-awaited online Heists DLC for the multi-player “GTA Online.” Despite the agitation, anxiousness, and even anger that Rockstar caused for the delay in the release of the online Heists DLC for more than 520 days, gamers eventually learned that it was well worth the wait.
The same thing happened for the PC version of “GTA 5” whose release was delayed by over three months but when it arrived, gamers find it remarkable and impressive too.
It’s obvious that Rockstar Games is not the average developer that likes to abide by its own timetable. Rather than talk about its plans for the games and makes announcement on what does it intend to do and when it plans to roll it out, it just let its output and product do the talking instead to gamers. And so far, despite its poor record on abiding by its own schedule or timetable, gamers are still pleased with the developer’s showing and track record.
Drawing interest
Interest on the “GTA 6” began to heighten all the more last month following the release of the “GTA 5” on the PC after five months of waiting by gamers.
Now that gamers and fans are no longer waiting for anything related to “GTA 5” or the long awaited but otherwise truly worth it online heist DLC, focus is now on the upcoming edition of one of the world’s most popular, if not the most popular, video game of all time.
As usual, Rockstar has not been making any official announcement or statement to confirm or deny reports about the “GTA 6,” which only propels the speculations all the more.
But what is pretty much confirmed as far as game experts are concerned is that “GTA 6” would certainly be bigger than its predecessor considering the significant improvements that Rockstar has been giving its game for every upgrade.
As early as last year, there have been talks about the location of the “GTA 6,” which shall reportedly no longer be in Los Santos or Blaine County but instead on certain reputable cities in the United States. Among those that were brought forth were Portland, Chicago, and also Texas though those are still unconfirmed.
