Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was recently offered to appear on “Dancing with the Stars”, although he didn’t give any public response to that. Now, apparently, he has been considering taking up the offer and joining the show. This was revealed by his own daughter, Kick, in a post on her Instagram feed in which he shared a text message from her Dad, asking for her opinion on the issue.
The message also reveals certain details about the offer the producers have extended to Kennedy Jr. – according to the reports, they are looking at paying him an initial premium of $150,000 for his commitment to the show, and a further $350,000 if he gets to the semifinals (and those semifinals are actually aired on television). He ended the message with the remark that since Kick has seen her dad dancing, she should have a good opinion on whether or not that’s a good idea.
Previous reports stated that contestants on the show got $125,000 for the initial sign-on, and an additional $345,000 prize pool distributed during the show’s airing. So it seems that those reports weren’t far off from the truth, as indicated by the messages posted on Kick’s Instagram account.
It’s not clear what Kennedy is confused about, however – people have seen him dancing before, with one notable case being the wedding of Cheryl Hines, when he danced to “Make You Feel My Love” by Adele, and to quite the audience too. Of course, it’s a completely different story when one has to come up on TV in front of the entire nation, and go up against others in a competitive environment, but Kennedy is also not exactly a shy person.
Other than the posting of that message though, nothing has been said about the potential of Kennedy actually joining the show so far. Both him and his representatives have been quiet on the issue, although if he does end up taking part, it’s expected that this will be announced shortly.
Meanwhile, the show has been hit with some controversy, as a report came out that its producer has been distributing drugs to dancers. This was reportedly revealed through a series of text messages exchanged between the producer in question and some of the dancers. In one of the messages, he was talking about having high-quality MDMA, and wasn’t being very discreet about it either, calling the drug with various popular street names directly in his conversation. The LAPD are said to be relying on those text messages as major evidence in the ongoing investigation, although most details are understandably being kept under wraps.
