Rihanna is set to return to the catwalk to sing for the Angels and select audience for this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show happening on November 10 in New York City.
The 27-year-old singer was the performer alongside Bruno Mars and Justin Bieber in the same event in 2012 in New York.
This year, the “Umbrella” singer will be sharing the spotlight with Selena Gomez and The Weeknd. Victoria’s Secret Angel Candice Swanepoel took to Instagram her excitement that Riri will be back for this year’s show.
Last year, the annual fashion event was held in London and was graced by performances of Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande, and Hozier. For this year, the show returns to New York City to showcase the designs of the Victoria’s Secret creative team.
The Telegraph reports that the VS Angels confirmed to be walking in the show are Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Behati Prinsloo, Candace Swanepoel, and Lily Aldrige. Elsa Hosko, Jac Jagaciak, Jasmine Tookes, Kate Grigorieva, Lais Roberto, Martha Hunt, Romee Strijd, Sara Sampaio, Stella Maxwell, and Taylor Hill will also join this year’s grand lingerie event.
The Angels are getting pumped up and excited for their biggest event this year. Brazilian model Adriana Lima has been sharing her workout and diet regimen on Instagram to ensure that her amazing body will rock the runway next month.
With the confirmation that Canadian singer The Weeknd will be performing, news that his model girlfriend Bella Hadid and sister Gigi will also walk in the show.
The show is rumored to cost tens of millions of dollars and will be broadcast in over 180 countries. This year, CBS will air the show on December 8.
As for Riri, aside from preparing for her VS Fashion Show stint, the “Diamonds” hitmaker has got a lot on her plate as of late. Last week, the Barbados-born singer announced the name of her upcoming eighth studio album, “Anti” and even revealed its cover art.
News that Rihanna was working on another album surfaced last year and the first single from it titled “FourFiveSeconds,” where she was joined by Kanye West and Paul McCartney, was released in January this year.
She then released two more singles, “Bitch Better Have My Money” and “American Oxygen” in March and April, respectively, despite not yet revealing when the full album will come out.
EW speculates that “Anti” will be released in mid-November. Her last album titled “Apologetic” came out in 2012.
Meanwhile, Hollywood Life reports that the eight-time Grammy Award-winner is trying not to fall too fast and too much for her beau Travis Scott. The Barbadian beauty and the 23-year-old rapper has been dating since August, but reports claim that Riri still has her guard up.
Apparently, the “Love the Way You Lie” singer is seeing a lot of his ex-boyfriend Chris Brown in Travis. Reports say that the songstress is afraid to be vulnerable again the way she was with Brown.
Rihanna and Brown’s relationship took a turn for the worse when the latter beat up Rihanna back in 2009. Brown was charged with assault and making criminal threats. The leaked photograph from LAPD showed Rihanna’s visible wounds and injuries after the domestic assault.
Brown pled guilty to felony assault and received five years of probation with a restraining order. Four years after their highly publicized altercation, it was reported that the pair had rekindled their relationship only to break up again a few months later.
Reports say that the “S&M” singer’s bark is worse than her bite. Apparently, Riri’s tough girl look is only a front and that she’s a lot more sensitive than she lets people believe.
