There have been rumors that Rihanna has gotten back together with rapper Drake although both parties have yet to confirm it as of this time.
But it seems that the supposed rekindling of romance between Riri and the “Hotline Bling” rapper is off to a rough start as reports have it that his mother, Sandi Graham, is vouching for someone else to become her son’s lady love.
According to reports, Sandi thinks that her son is better off having a relationship with tennis superstar Serena Williams than Rihanna.
A source close to the Canadian rapper said that Drake and his mother are really tight and he listens to her mother a lot, reports the International Business Times.
The same source said that Sandi does not think anyone is good for her son other than Serena. Drake’s mother reportedly idolizes Serena’s athleticism and thinks she is a sweet and wholesome girl, which is a far cry from the often wild and oversexualized women that Drake used to go out with.
But she did not include Rihanna on the list of women conquest that her son has piled over the years.
Deserves a champion
Serena Williams is on course to making it to the women’s finals of the Wimbledon 2016 and Sandi has been telling Drake that he should attend all her matches in London. Sandi believes that her son deserves a champion and Serena is it for him.
Drake and Williams were spotted kissing at a restaurant in Cincinnati, Ohio in August of last year, sparking rumors that Serena was pregnant and that it was with Drake.
With the way Serena has been playing in the majors since last year, the pregnancy rumors proved to be false eventually.
Of late, however, Drake has been spotted spending more time with Rihanna as they were seen leaving a nightclub in London. The sighting of the duo triggered speculations that the two may have reignited their romance already.
Rihanna and Drake first dated in 2009 and they have been into a topsy-turvy kind of relationship. They were also seen together performing at the Brit Awards in London in February and were seen getting intimate in a London nightclub afterward.
No more killing
Rihanna and other music celebrities took to social media to voice their outrage over another police-related killing of a black man, Alton Sterling, reports MTV.
Sterling was shot by white policemen on July 5 and the incident sparked an outrage from celebrities including Rihanna, Katy Perry, Kanye West, and Justin Timberlake.
Sterling was a 37-year-old father of five children who was killed by Baton Rouge police on July 5 while selling CDs outside of a convenience store.
Disturbing cell phone footage from a bystander showed Sterling being pinned down by two white police officers and shot repeatedly.
Katy Perry used her Twitter account to post the graphic video of Sterling being shot by the white policemen and criticized the obvious police brutality.
Riri took a different approach by opting to share a moving video about a mother talking about the shooting with her kids in the backseat of their car. She captioned her post with ‘RIP Alton Sterling #howmanymore.’
Meanwhile, fans of Rihanna have expressed concern about what’s going on in the mind of their music idol in light of the pop diva’s emotional outburst during her concert in Dublin, Ireland on June 21.
Initial reports have it that Riri was simply overwhelmed with joy when she sang her hit song with Eminem “Love the Way You Lie” during her concert that she cried almost uncontrollably.
Her emotions really got the better of her that at some point in the song, she asked for time but the audience roared the lyrics back at her and it was just too much for the 28-year-old singer from Barbados.
While she was crying almost uncontrollably, her fans screamed words of support to her and she continued into the song even as the crowd continued to encourage her.
