Roiland, who also lends his voice to both Rick and Morty in the TV series, made the statement when he was recently asked about the status of the hit show on Adult Swim.
He said early last month that he and co-creator Dan Harmon and the production team were well into the thick of production of “Rick and Morty” Season 3.
While he did not disclose any spoiler for the upcoming season, Roiland thinks that the episodes that they have come up in the hopper for the show’s third season are some of the best that they have ever done.
After the Season 2 finale of “Rick and Morty” last year, the speculations were saying that the TV series would return to Adult Swim by March 2017, based on the hint of Mr. Poopybutthole that the show would return after a year and a half.
Since production for the TV series began in February this year, the subsequent rumors came out saying that “Rick and Morty” could come out ahead of its schedule and possibly before the end of 2016.
Now, the latest rumors are saying that it could actually come out in January 2017. However, all these remain as speculations pending the confirmation from Adult Swim or perhaps an announcement from either Roiland or Harmon or both.
