Rick and Morty Season 3 Making Good Progress as Half of Animation Is Complete!

The third season of “Rick and Morty” is easily one of the most anticipated releases in television, and there is a lot of pressure on the showrunners at the moment to live up to the expectations they’ve set. It’s been a while since we first saw the original first season of the show, and it made a huge splash when it arrived. Season 2 raised the bar even higher, and now fans expect the third season to be something even more special.

Official reports indicate that work on the new season is coming along nicely, with more than half of the animation already being complete. That still leaves a lot to be done of course, including voice acting and post-production, but it’s good to get any actual indication of how things have been moving behind the scenes.

We still don’t know exactly what the season will be about though, and the producers have been completely quiet on that front, refusing to share any specific details about the story of the new season. This makes sense, as season 2 ended on a pretty major cliffhanger, and any revelations about the new episodes could be a pretty big spoiler for the show’s fans.

There have been some interesting rumors about what the producers could potentially be planning for season 3 though, and they all sound somewhat plausible given the crazy nature of the show. One of the rumors claims that most of the season will be focused on attempts to break Rick out of prison, which means that he will remain locked up for most episodes.

It would be strange to see a whole season without any interaction between Rick and Morty themselves, but it could also open the doors for some interesting character development on both sides. Plus, knowing “Rick and Morty”, it’s entirely possible that the two will still find a way to communicate.

After all, this is a show that spans across the entire multiverse, so perhaps Morty could seek out the help of an alternate dimension Rick. This is actually one of the main theories among fans right now, and it doesn’t sound like a bad idea.

It will give the writers an opportunity to keep Rick around, while at the same time potentially exploring his character from an entirely new perspective. They could even introduce a twist like Morty deciding he likes the “new Rick” better, something which would be very fitting with the show’s overall dramatic and somewhat even depressing tone.

Alternate versions of Rick are not the only ones he could count on for help though. The show has established plenty of characters during its first two seasons, many of which ended up on friendly terms with Rick and Morty.

There is no shortage of candidates who would be willing to lend a helping hand in breaking Rick free, and this could actually be a great opportunity for the producers to bring back some older characters that we haven’t seen in a while.

On the other hand, the pair also managed to make lots of enemies along the way, so it will be interesting to see if someone comes out of the shadows in order to make things even more difficult for Rick. Knowing the writers of the show and everything they’ve done so far, anything is possible. Actually, fans should probably keep that in mind, as it’s not out of the question that the season could end on an even more dramatic note than the one before it.
