‘Rick and Morty’ Season 3 Fans Get a Kick Out of the ‘Pocket Mortys’ Video Game and Comics!

Fans of the adult animated TV series “Rick and Morty” already know that Season 3 of their favorite TV show on Adult Swim will not be happening this year. In fact, they also know that the earliest that Season 3 of “Rick and Morty” could air on the small screen is in March next year.

However, fans and viewers of the popular adult animated TV series are already getting their fixes in other ways.

One of them is the mobile video game “Pocket Mortys,” which is inspired by the “Pokemon” video game.

In order to draw fans and viewers to the mobile video game, “Rick and Morty” is reportedly giving away some stuff to their fans for reaching one million likes on the official Facebook page of the TV series, including “Pocket Mortys” perhaps. The social media site claimed that they might be giving away some cool stuff for the fans of the show, notes Crossmap.

While there were initial reports that a “Pocket Mortys” commercial will make it to the recently-concluded Super Bowl, it did not happen. Nonetheless, the mobile video game still had a successful launch although not as costly as having an advertisement at the Super Bowl.

Many Mortys to recruit and train

“Pocket Mortys” features the “Rick and Morty” multiverse as they get swept up in the latest craze: Morty training.

There are over 70 bizarre Mortys to recruit and train out there including the Mustache Morty, Wizard Morty, Cronenberg Morty, and more.

The challenge for gamers is for them to assemble a dream team that will challenge rival Ricks by forcing their grandsons to battle each other.

Command, combine, and level up one’s Mortys to prove that the gamer is the greatest Morty trainer of all time is the game’s main objective.

According to some gaming critics, when spinoff games are released, it’s rarely as entertaining as the source material, though according to a review, “Pocket Mortys” is actually a game that is deserving to be called as part of the “Rick and Morty” franchise. “Pocket Mortys” is a free-to-play mobile video game for both iOS and Android.

‘Rick and Morty’ comic book series out soon

In addition to the video game “Pocket Mortys,” an announcement has recently been made regarding the first “Rick and Morty” comics written by Zac Gorman. Reports have it that the second comic book is to be written by Tom Fowler, reports the Vine Report.

Fowler is a veteran illustrator, and it will be his first time to do the script for the comics.

Because “Rick and Morty” Season 3 is still more than a year away, fans and viewers of the TV series have been trying to keep themselves busy with something else while waiting for the return to the small screen of their favorite show.

The good news is that because of the popularity of “Rick and Morty,” the show has actually spurred plenty of by-products including video games, cartoons, comics, and a lot of interviews, mostly related to the TV series and really keep fans preoccupied.

As aptly described by Inverse, true fandom really manifests between seasons of a TV show. Since “Rick and Morty” is a TV series that prides itself on its complexity and multi-verse approach to reality, fans are now finding alternate forms of entertainment from the show’s creators and affiliates as they enthusiastically wait for Season 3.

Other than “Pocket Mortys,” there is also Adult Swim Games’ “Rick and Morty Presents: Jerry’s Game” which is a satirical game that specifically lambast people who buy useless mobile games and spend actual money on them.

Then there is also “Rick and Morty’s Rushed Licensed Adventure” which is designed to look like an NES style 8-bit game. It is a point-and-click adventure that features Justin Roiland’s voice acting complete with belches, improvisational-sounding halts, and repetitions. Roiland also lent his voice to the “Rick and Morty Announcer Pack” for “DoTA 2.”

For those who are content with the voice talent of Justin Roiland, they can settle for other cartoons including “House of Cosbys,” “Solar Opposites,” and “The Real Animated Adventures of Doc and Mharti.”
