Rick and Morty Season 2 Is Over, Season 3 Expected in a Year: How Did the Show Rise to Prominence So Quickly?

After season 1 ended, the fate of the show wasn’t certain and producers reportedly had to wait for a confirmation about the next season. This led to a very long production cycle that left fans waiting for quite a while.

On the other hand, season 3 was already approved while season 2 was running, so that was very likely a joke by the producers who took a chance to poke fun at the network airing the show and to mess with their fans a little bit in a friendly way.

With that in mind, we expect to see season 3 in about a year, probably in the summer of 2016. We have no idea what kinds of plot developments it’s going to come with, and the biggest question among fans right now is who’s going to save Rick.

There are plenty of characters that the duo has encountered during their wild escapades, enough for the writers to come up with a creative way to get Rick out of prison. At the same time, fans are expecting a truly unusual plot twist and something they totally didn’t see coming, which would be exactly in the style of this show after all. We have no idea what that could be however, and we’re as excited as anyone else to see the new season once it’s ready.
