‘Rick and Morty’ Gets Politicized During US Presidential Debate Ahead of its Season 3 Release

A good number of American fans of the American adult animated TV series “Rick and Morty” on Adult Swim said that the big winner in the US presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump recently is none other than Justin Roiland.

Justin Roiland is the series creator of “Rick and Morty” and he is also a co-executive producer of the popular TV series along with Dan Harmon.

During the presidential debate held on September 26, “Rick and Morty” got politicized for some reason. While neither candidate brought up the important issues, including Rick’s imprisonment and the Cromulon threat, brave protesters got the message by sneaking their signs into pre-debate coverage, details iDigital Trends.

At least two posters of protesters were irrelevant to the debate but hinted of “Rick and Morty” Season 3. One reads: ‘Make America Schwifty again’ and the other one states ‘Free Rick Sanchez.’

A more dramatic Season 3?

“Rick and Morty” Season 3 is expected to air on Adult Swim in the spring of next year. Although it is a laugh-a-second TV series, there are reports saying that the third season of the TV series shall be more dramatic as couple Jerry and Beth will reportedly be filing for divorce, reports Game & Guide.

Accordingly, Season 3 of the TV show is going to follow a dramatic storyline because it will focus more on the relationship of the lead characters. Thus, the speculations about the relationship of Jerry and Beth getting tested in the upcoming third season started swirling around.

Jerry and Beth are the parents of Rick. Spoilers for the upcoming Season 3 of “Rick and Morty” are saying that the couple will experience marital struggles with a possible ending of divorce.

Morty’s alcoholism will be among the main reasons why Jerry and Beth shall be constantly fighting. Rick will learn about it so he will be launching a war with Morty.

There are also reports saying that Rick’s wife might return in Season 3 of “Breaking Bad.” Mrs. Sanchez shall reportedly arrive to comfort Rick as he deals with a lot of personal stuff. It remains to be seen if Rick and his wife shall be reunited for good.

The executive producers of the popular adult animated TV series “Rick and Morty” pulled a major casting surprise when it was recently confirmed that action star Vin Diesel has agreed to make a guest appearance or his voice that is, when Season 3 premieres on Adult Swim next year.

There were also rumors saying that “Rick and Morty” Season 3 could return to the small screen as early as late this year but it is now confirmed that the hit animated show will be airing on Adult Swim in April next year.

From its usual dose of 11 episodes during its first two seasons, “Rick and Morty” shall already be featuring 15 episodes for its upcoming third season.

Vin Diesel shall reportedly be voicing a pivotal character in “Rick and Morty” Season 3, which would be introduced also in the series. While the producers have not confirmed the “Fast & Furious” actor’s character in the TV series, rumors are saying that he would be playing the role of D&D.

The speculations came out when series co-creator Dan Harmon tapped the 49-year-old action superstar to dub the pivotal character during his speech at the San Diego ComicCon held in July.

Vin Diesel is not new to voice acting even if it is a small role. In fact, he agreed to lend his voice the character Groot in the Marvel sleeper hit movie “Guardians of the Galaxy” shown in cinemas in 2014.
