Capcom seem to know how to handle their relations with their fans quite well at least, so they are most likely ahead of everyone else when it comes to sharing information about the game, and they know exactly what they need to say in order to get people excited, but also when to say it.
The fact that information about “Resident Evil 7” has been vague should not be alarming to fans as it most likely means that the game is in active development and the developers are still trying to figure out the more important details.
We definitely expect to hear more about it in the coming months though, as that would work well to satisfy the craving for information that fans have and keep them alert about the game. Realistically, Capcom don’t even have to reveal too much in order to keep fans excited, and as we said above, they are one of the most experienced studios on the market when it comes to revealing information in a controlled way.
