Capcom apparently recognized that many gamers were not happy with “Resident Evil 6” because it pulled away from its horror genre and contented itself with being an action game with plenty of shooting and the horror element is just considered part of the drama.
Kawata confirmed that “Resident Evil 7” will certainly go back to being a survival horror game instead of being a third-person shooter dramatic horror video game the way “Resident Evil 6” and “Resident Evil 5” in part came out.
Capcom has reportedly taken heed of the gamers’ concerns and vowed to take inspiration from the first three games of the series. However, since the development on the game is still ongoing, it would be too soon to expect too much from the game until the plot is revealed.
There were also reports last year that it would be unlike for Capcom to officially unveil “Resident Evil 7” at the E3 2016 to be held in California next month.
Reports have it that the Japanese game developer will actually unveil another game called “Resident Evil 2 Remake” at the E3 2016 and not “Resident Evil 7.”
Based on such premise, it would be illogical for Capcom to launch two games in the same franchise in one big event. However, there are still murmurs going around that the developer might actually launch the two games days apart during the E3 2016.
