The seventh installment of the dramatic horror action-adventure third-person shooter video game “Resident Evil” is expected to be launched by Japanese game developer Capcom at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 slated in Los Angeles next month.
While Capcom has yet to reveal a specific release date for “Resident Evil 7,” latest reports now have it that the game might come out before April next year, reports VG 24/7.
Apparently, Capcom has promised its investors that it will release three new major titles over the next financial year in addition to its known lineup.
In Japan, the financial year begins from April 1 up to March 31 of the following year, thus, it follows therefore that the release of those three new video game titles will come before April 1, 2017.
Based on the same reports, one of those three new game titles will be the “Monster Hunter” title which is expected to sell around two million units. One of the other two titles is also projected to sell two million copies as well while the third and biggest of the three is expected to ship four million units.
As it is, the only plausible suspicion of the biggest game title from Capcom that is expected to ship four million units is none other than “Resident Evil 7” especially when the Japanese game developer revealed plans earlier this year that it will go full-scale offensive on the “Resident Evil” video game franchise this year.
A spinoff game
Capcom has also launched the “Resident Evil” spin-off game recently where it also said that it will be working on the next saga to the “Resident Evil” franchise.
While the rumors are growing louder that “Resident Evil 7” will be launched at the E3 2016, Capcom has yet to come out with an official statement or announcement confirming or denying such date, thus leaving everything as speculation.
There are also rumors making the rounds on the internet saying that the game may actually come out on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One later this year.
However, with Capcom already working on “Umbrella Corps” at this time, it looks remote that “Resident Evil 7” will come out on the gaming consoles this year, notes News Every Day.
Deluge of problem on the consoles
When “Resident Evil 6” was released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in October 2012, Capcom did not see the deluge of problems coming.
It was made further worse when the PC version of “Resident Evil 6” came out some six months later or in March 2013.
Fans were also expecting a version of the game on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 when the consoles came out late in 2013 but Capcom only released the version of the game for the current generation gaming consoles on March 29, 2016.
Thus, it became clear that contrary to previous rumors that the seventh installment of the game, “Resident Evil 7,” which is the 10th in the series, will come out this year it seems very remote already as its predecessor just came out on the gaming consoles in March this year.
Another issue that went against “Resident Evil 6” is that the game already deviated from its genre of being a survival horror game the way the gaming franchise has been known for since the first game of the series was released back in 1996.
Masachika Kawata, executive producer of “Resident Evil 7” in Capcom, confirmed in a recent interview that the next installment of the game will go back to its original gameplay as the franchise goes back to its roots.
