We most likely won’t get another gameplay demo before the official release, so players will have to get their impressions from what we have available. It’s still a good idea to wait for some proper reviews once the game is out though, even if the demo does look promising.
One particular feature that some fans and critics seem worried about is the quality of the game’s graphics. There are some rumors that the title might undergo a downgrade before it hits the market, but hopefully those are just rumors and nothing substantial.
Because we’ve already seen plenty of examples of how this affects games – Ubisoft in particular seem to have the tendency to do that with their games, and it often backfires significantly, to the point where players have lost a lot of trust in them.
From what we’ve seen so far, “Resident Evil 7” does look to have some pretty good graphics, so hopefully the developers will maintain that quality until the game is released and won’t find themselves forced to tone it down. Just because the demo can handle that kind of fidelity doesn’t mean that the final release will be similarly optimized, which is probably where some of those rumors are coming from. But so far we have no real reason to believe that the game’s development is going to suffer in this way.
