Resident Evil 2 Getting Its Own Remake in the Future, Capcom Confirms!

It looks like Capcom are determined to revisit the past of the “Resident Evil” franchise and help gamers remember the best parts of the original games, and the studio has been investing some effort into remaking those old experiences lately. Now, they’ve announced that another game from the franchise is getting remade, and it’s one of the most favorite installments for many fans, “Resident Evil 2”.

This was officially confirmed by Capcom and at this point, all fans have to do is wait and see how the studio is going to reimagine the original game and what kinds of changes they might bring to the formula. We’ve already heard reports that the new remake is going to feature actual additions to the gameplay and various changes to make it a better, smoother experience, so it will likely not be a direct copy of the original with better graphics, but rather an improved experience overall.

That’s certainly great news for fans of the original games, as there is still a lot of potential in the original “Resident Evil 2” if it’s reimagined properly. The game had various interesting ideas and it was a unique experience, not just in the franchise but in the gaming industry in general, and it would be very exciting to see that same game realized through the use of modern technology.

Fans have already started discussing the possible implications of this remake and how it could change things for the franchise as a whole. There are some things from the more recent installments in the series that can be taken and carried over to the older games in order to improve the experience there, and it’s not just about making the graphics better.

For example, a common complaint about the original games is that their controls were too clunky and didn’t feel very intuitive, especially when played on a PC with a keyboard and mouse available. The game only used the keyboard and it did so in a “tank style” control scheme, which made it very difficult to control the characters in more complicated ways, and ultimately made the game more difficult than it needs to be, but for the wrong reasons.

So it should be expected that Capcom are going to take a second look at the control scheme of “Resident Evil 2” for the game’s remake, but there is even more that can be done to make the game a better experience. Managing the inventory was always a bothersome ordeal in the first games, and it was also a bit difficult to keep track of the character’s status through the interface provided.

With all this in mind, there is definitely room for improvement in a potential remake of “Resident Evil 2”, and the game could work a lot better if Capcom put their minds to it and evaluated fan feedback more closely. Fans have certainly been very active in sharing their opinions on the games and what they would like to see changed.

At this point though, it will probably be a while before we actually see the game out on the market, so fans will continue to speculate on its features for some time. At least until Capcom make the official announcement of the game’s features, at which point the discussion will turn to weighing the pros and cons of what will be announced. It’s entirely possible that the game might be remade in a way that doesn’t please original fans that much, but there’s no sense in having such negative anticipations for it right now.
