Release of Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 Nears as Great Deals on Samsung Galaxy Tab S Continue

If the continuing special promotions and discounts on the Samsung Galaxy Tab are any indications, then it is likely that the rumored release date of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 appears to be true after all.

Last month, Samsung made a time-bound discount offer on the Galaxy Tab S which brought down the price of the tablet to $299 for its Wi-Fi version. For those who have missed the deal on the 8.4-inch device, they need not fret because the Korean tech giant is coming up with a better offer this time around.

The Phone Arena reports that the 16GB Wi-Fi only version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S is now being offered for only $279 by both Amazon and Newegg.

The 8.4-inch variant is the smaller of the two Samsung Galaxy Tab S models. It comes with a very bright and vivid Super AMOLED display panel with a superb resolution of 1600 x 2560 pixels, which is one of the best display resolutions now available in the retail markets.

Thinner and with metallic frame

While Samsung has yet to formally confirm the initial information, speculations are already rife that its latest flagship tablet of will be coming out in June.

Apart from expected to be thinner compared to its predecessor, the
Galaxy Tab S2 is rumored to come with a metallic frame, which has become the norm in Samsung these days following the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge in March, which also featured metal uni-bodies.

There were reports that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 will also compete directly with the Apple iPad Air 2 and the iPad mini 3 especially when word came out that the upcoming tablet from the Korean tech giant will sport a 9.7-inch and an 8-inch screens.

The 8-inch version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 will go up against the 7.9-inch Apple iPad mini 3 while the 9.7-inch will compete head on with the 9.7-inch Apple iPad Air 2.

But the latest Samsung tablet’s premium advantage over the thin Apple iPad Air 2 is that it’s actually thinner at only 5.4 millimeters. The iPad Air 2 is 6.1 millimeters slim.

Powerful tablet

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 shall also be powered by a 64-bit Exynos chipset, shall have a 3GB of RAM and a 32GB of built-in storage with an option to expand via a micro-SD slot. But Samsung has yet to make a statement to formally confirm or deny these specifications.

Based on history however, the features going around the internet are pretty much confirmed since it is likely that the sources of initial information are also involved in Samsung’s production and supply chain.
