Ratings have been a bit poor during season 3, and some fans are attributing that to the dramatic developments during the season, some of which occurred quite spontaneously and took many by surprise. This changed the pace of the show a bit, and some fans felt like it was moving in the wrong direction.
Now, the producers still have a chance to redeem themselves in this regard with season 4, so hopefully they will use the opportunity to leave things off on the best note possible. It’s not unlikely that season 4 could see a significant improvement in viewership with all the hype around it, and it could be the exact kind of ending this show needs.
As for the future, hopefully other producers will be able to combine reality and fiction in such a great way, as this show definitely got many parts of its formula right, especially with regards to its pacing and character development.
Some have been slightly critical of the producers’ approach in this regard, claiming that they are taking far too many liberties with what actually happened, but not everyone seems to share that view. For most people, the show was a fresh and exciting experience (at least up to season 3 anyway), and it’s proof that this style still has a lot of potential. Could we see a truly major production with such a direction in the near future?
