The 16th episode of Season 3 of the American historical drama TV series “Reign” shall air on The CW on June 6 and it shall feature the return of Queen Mary, played by Adelaide Kane, to her home country of Scotland.
However, Mary would be shocked to find out in the upcoming episode of “Reign” entitled “Clans” that the country she used to live in has turned into a treacherous world, notes the Ecumenical News.
Mary will be forced to keep her royal identity as a secret until she can find someone in her home country whom she can trust.
Just before she gets home to Scotland, a storm shall also endanger her ship, putting her life at risk. But apparently, the bigger storm is not in the sea but in her home kingdom.
Over at England, Elizabeth, played by Rachel Skarsten, deals yet again with an unbearable suitor. For some reason, Lola, played by Anna Popplewell, decides to help her, making the Queen doubt Lola’s intention.
Interesting events in the previous episode
Episode 15 of “Reign” featured many interesting events including the discovery by Delphine that Christophe is the killer that eventually led to her death.
Bash eventually discovered Christophe’s secret leading to the crossbow confrontation between the two leading yet again to a certain letter containing Queen Catherine’s secrets. Just before Christophe dies after being stabbed by Bash in the chest, he confessed to the location of the letter, details Game N Guide.
Based on the letter, Bash found out about the secrets of Catherine, played by Megan Follows, including the discovery that she actually killed his mother. He vowed to make her suffer for it.
Bash eventually confronted Catherine and asked her where the body of her mother is to which the Queen of France revealed that it’s in the sea. While Bash had the chance to strangle her neck, he opted not to.
Instead, he left Christophe’s letter to Charles and Claude for them to find out including Catherine’s plan to have Claude beaten black and blue. Charles then promised to make Catherine pay for her deeds.
Meanwhile, Mary set out in the sea with Bash and Narcisse as they sail to her home country of Scotland.
Potential wedding plans
In a previous interview, actress Adelaide Kane already hinted at her character’s return to Scotland and her potential wedding plans in her home country.
The actress said that there is a lot of pressure on the Queen of Scots to marry again, especially now that her kingdom is in a precarious position.
She added that knuckling down and getting married for Mary are going to have to wait until she gets back in Scotland where there are plenty of suitors who are both appropriate and inappropriate for her.
Also in the same interview, Kane said that the second half of Season 3 of “Reign” is already a whole new chapter, a whole new country, and a whole new court for her character.
She disclosed that Queen Mary will have new friends and new enemies and that the TV series is being set for some really big storylines in Season 4.
Kane also explained that Mary’s life did not even start until she got to Scotland when things really kicked off for her.
While she had a great time in France, it was only a small part of her life and she did not get what she wanted in the French court.
Unfortunately, there would not be any room for Bash in the next chapter of “Reign” for Season 4 since actor Torrance Coombs plans to exit the TV series at the end of the season.
