‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ Unveiling Gets Boost with the Re-Released of ‘Red Dead Revolver’ on the PlayStation 4!

Late last month, there were rumors saying that the open world Western action-adventure video game “Red Dead Redemption 2” would no longer come out on the gaming consoles and the PC this year or next year but most likely in 2018.

According to the speculations, game developer Rockstar Games has decided to push back the release of “Red Dead Redemption 2” to 2018 because it wants to make sure that the game is capable of supporting virtual reality (VR) technology by then.

However, some critics argued that it would be foolish for Rockstar to release two franchise games in the same year considering that the sixth installment to its highly-anticipated and very popular “GTA” franchise shall be coming out in 2018 as well.

But it seems that things have once again turned around in the rumor mills and the speculations are now pointing to the possibility of “Red Dead Redemption 2” coming out next year.

The notion was further bolstered on October 12 when Rockstar Games re-released the “Red Dead Revolver” on the PlayStation 4, and is now available for download via the PlayStation Store at a price of $14.99, details Gamespot.

“Red Dead Revolver” is the first game of the franchise that was released on the PlayStation 2 and the Xbox in 2004. It was followed six years later by “Red Dead Redemption” on the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 in 2010.

Reports now have it that “Red Dead Redemption 2” could come out on the gaming consoles and the PC in April of next year at the earliest. However, Rockstar Games has yet to confirm or debunk the rumors relative to the release date of the game.

Two more games before ‘Red Dead Redemption 2’

There are also reports saying that Rockstar Games might release two more video games on its production timeline before finally unveiling “Red Dead Redemption 2.”

According to rumors, the two titles that may come out from Rockstar’s end before “Red Dead Redemption 2” are “Bully 2” and “Agent.”

If the year of release by Rockstar Games is to be considered, “Agent” should get the nod first and then “Bully 2,” reports Game & Guide.

“Bully” came out in 2006 for the PlayStation 2 so it makes sense to release a refresh given that it has been some time since the game came out. “Red Dead Redemption 2” is the third likely release considering that its predecessor came out in 2010.

But if game popularity is the basis, the hands-down choice on Rockstar Games’ stable would be “GTA 6” and/or “Red Dead Redemption 2.”

The official title

There have been reports saying that the official title of the game shall be “Red Dead Redemption: Legends of the West.” There are also suggestions saying that the working title of the game should not be “Red Dead Redemption 2” but “Red Dead 3.”

It has actually been rumored since last year that “Red Dead Redemption 2” will come out on the gaming consoles and the PC this year.

Eventually, reports started emerging that the game would no longer come out this year as Rockstar Games would be releasing first the remastered version of “Red Dead Redemption” on the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, and the PC in the first half of 2017.

Subsequently, “Red Dead Redemption 2” would come out after the remastered version of the original game comes out. Thus, it is likely that the game would be released in the second half of next year or in 2018 at the latest.

Reports were also saying then that when the remastered version of the game comes out in the first half of next year, it will also be launched alongside a new model of the PlayStation 4, which according to insiders could either be the PS4 Slim or the PS4 Neo.

Red Dead Redemption 2

Early last month, Sony launched the new PS4 variant and it was neither both as the company launched the PS4 Pro due to hit the market on November 10.

There are also rumors saying that “Red Dead Redemption 2” can only be played exclusively on the PlayStation Pro, but it seems unlikely since the first game came out on both on the Sony and the Microsoft gaming consoles as well as the PC.
