Red Dead Redemption 2 Trailer Hints of the Game’s World Featuring Wild Animals and Mysterious Characters!

Game developer Rockstar Games officially announced on October 18 on social media that its open world Western action-adventure video game “Red Dead Redemption 2” would be hitting the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One in the fall of next year. But no specific date has been given by Rockstar as to the exact release date of “Red Dead Redemption 2.”

The American game developer likewise announced that the first official trailer of the game would be released two days later or on October 20, reports the PC Advisor of UK.

Based on the released trailer, “Red Dead Redemption 2” becomes a completely different game from its predecessor. It was an entirely new game in a world that was filled with wild animals and mysterious characters, details Game & Guide.

The confirmation of the official launch of “Red Dead Redemption 2” for the autumn of next year also attests to the veracity of previous reports saying that the game is already in development.

A permanent franchise

Back in May 2014, Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, attended the Cowen and Company Analyst conference and he was very upbeat of the “Red Dead Redemption” franchise.

Zelnick said that it seems quite obvious already that “Red Dead” is a permanent franchise. He also pointed out that the risk of just releasing more games is that the developer ends up just bulking its release schedule which most consumers do not want.

The Take-Two CEO said that consumers nowadays want better and not more. He also added that they don’t always rush to make sequels but that does not mean that they won’t get back to its development eventually.

It seems that it was the route taken by the very popular and very successful open-world action adventure video game series “GTA,” which is also under the stable of Rockstar Games.

Zelnick assured fans and gamers that “Red Dead Redemption 2” shall be offering incredible emotional depth and more when it comes out on the gaming consoles in the fall of next year.

He said that as far as he knows, “Red Dead Redemption 2” shall have great story elements and gameplay elements too.

The Take-Two Interactive top executive said that the announcement trailer of “Red Dead Redemption 2” released last month has picked up more views than what the company expected. He said overall anticipation on the game has become so enormous already.

Zelnick also explained how the time is right in the world today for “Red Dead Redemption 2” to succeed just as the original “Red Dead Redemption” was released back in 2010.

A barely-supported genre

The Take-Two boss said that they are willing to support a Western-themed video game, which is a genre he considers as being barely supported in the medium.

He pointed out that the conventional wisdom was that a Western theme would not work, which was the case during “Red Dead Redemption.”

Zelnick said that they took a different point of view for a Western-themed game that rarely captures the imagination of the public.

He said that the time is now right for a big, sprawling, optimistic view of the American West again, which is not really meant to be cute. And that is exactly what “Red Dead Redemption 2” shall bring to the table when it finally comes out in the fall of next year on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.

Rockstar Games has yet to make an official announcement on the exact release date of Red Dead Redemption 2” but rumors are rife that it would finally happen sometime in the fall of next year.

Red Dead Redemption 2

In addition, there are also speculations saying that the game would feature seven main characters which are probably the reasons why the game shall have both a single and multiplayer story mode.

Some gamers who were able to see or test play the demo of the game recently said “Red Dead Redemption 2” is like the cowboy version of “Grand Theft Auto,” which is the most popular franchise of Rockstar Games to date.
