‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ to be Launched by Rockstar Games at the E3 2016 and Released in October!

Over the past couple of months, much of the rumors and speculations about the open-world Western action-adventure video game “Red Dead Redemption 2” were about its gameplay, its storyline, new characters, and that developer Rockstar Games wanted to make it a permanent franchise in its roster of video games just like the popular “Grand Theft Auto” series.

As far as possible release date is concerned for “Red Dead Redemption 2,” the previous speculations are that it could come out this year and not later than 2017, considering that its predecessor game was released way back in 2011. Five years is already an eternity in game development, so much more if it is going to be six.

However, as of late, there came out reports that Rockstar Games is set to unveil “Red Dead Redemption 2” in the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2015 to be held in Las Vegas, Nevada in June and the game shall eventually make it to the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, and the PC in October this year, reports Crossmap.

Rockstar has yet to come out with an official statement or announcement regarding the release date of its highly-anticipated video game so everything should be taken with a fine grain of salt.

Under pressure to outdo the predecessor

There are also reports saying that Rockstar is actually under pressure these days to ensure that when “Red Dead Redemption 2” comes out on the gaming consoles and the PC this year, it should surpass the accomplishments of its predecessor.

When “Red Dead Redemption” was released in 2011, it was very successful so the challenge for the New York City-based game developer is to guarantee that the sequel should be better in terms of gameplay, storyline, and everything else that matters to fans and gamers.

In terms of game setting, there were previously absurd theories that “Red Dead Redemption 2” will be set in Japan, which is way too unbelievable since it is a Western action-adventure video game and Japan is in the East.

Eventually, the rumors started to clear up and what remains in the rumor mills, which are more plausible already, is that “Red Dead Redemption 2” will expand to the east of the United States as well. Perhaps, when word came out that the game will expand to the east, some bright gamers deduced that it is going to be in Japan.

Apparently, the expansion in the east is limited to the US only. Based on rumors, possible gameplay settings for “Red Dead Redemption 2” are Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Denver, South Dakota, and Mexico.

Indirectly confirming the game

Danny Ross, a former employee of Rockstar has previously taken to Reddit to confirm the sequel to the massively popular “Red Dead Redemption,” which was released way back in 2011.

Although it is possible that the Danny Ross on Reddit is not the real Danny Ross who was an ex-employee of Rockstar, but the one on Reddit actually responded to fan questions on what should gamers expect from Rockstar.

Before he served for Rockstar Games, Ross previously worked on the “Opie & Anthony” radio show. So when he was asked by a fan what Rockstar has on deck at the moment, Ross gave a cryptic answer.

He said ‘Really? Dumbass. Really? Two’ which many critics and keen gamers have interpreted as synonymous to “Red Dead Redemption 2,” basing on the initials of the phrases he quipped.

However, on the same thread on Reddit later, Ross eventually admitted that he only worked on “GTA 5” for Rockstar. He also said that he was just playing, adding that “GTA 6” is up next but he, like other gamers, are waiting for more Michael Mann movies to rip off first.

Red Dead Redemption 2

Meanwhile, according to a Redditor, who goes by the name of AnonDN1978, “Red Dead Redemption 2” shall have three additional playable characters. The first two characters will be Irish and Seth. Irish is said to be bank teller from Kansas City while Seth is someone from Ireland who migrated to America.

The goal of the two main characters is to look for hidden treasures. Both characters will meet in Tumbleweed, Texas. The third character will apparently be created by the players, and will be a gun-for-hire of sorts, quite like the playable character in “GTA V.”
