American game developer Rockstar Games has already announced in October that the open world Western action-adventure video game “Red Dead Redemption 2” would come out on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One in the fall of next year.
But it has yet to announce when the exact release date for the game is.
Latest rumors have it that players would have more fun with “Red Dead Redemption 2” compared to its predecessor game as it shall reportedly feature an online single player mode and three playable characters in the normal game, reports Yibada.
The three playable characters of “Red Dead Redemption 2” were patterned after the very successful open world action-adventure video game “Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 5” featuring Trevor, Michael, and Franklin.
Critics are saying that the plan could be a potential marketing strategy for “Red Dead Redemption 2,” which Rockstar Games officials have been saying months ago as part of a permanent franchise just like “GTA.”
In addition to the three playable characters, “Red Dead Redemption 2” shall also have an online mode which is going to be similar to “GTA 5” too.
However, reports are also saying that the online single player mode for the game shall be released one year after the offline mode comes out on the gaming consoles, notes Mobile & Apps.
Altered player mode
There are also reports saying that “Red Dead Redemption 2” shall have an altered player mode where gamers can switch playable characters similar to “GTA 5” again.
A leak of the game also featured a new map that includes the location of New Bordeaux. The new map also has several islands, as such, the playable characters shall be equipped with the ability to swim.
There will be certain vessels or contraptions that are expected to be added in the game so that players could travel from one island to another and enjoy a complete gaming experience.
Sources are also saying that “Red Dead Redemption 2” shall be pack with an incredible emotional depth which was not there in the first game of the franchise.
A completely different game
Rockstar Games officially announced on October 18 on social media that “Red Dead Redemption 2” would be hitting the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One in the fall of next year.
The American game developer likewise announced that the first official trailer of the game would be released two days later or on October 20.
Based on the trailer, “Red Dead Redemption 2” has become a completely different game from its predecessor. It was an entirely new game in a world that was filled with wild animals and mysterious characters.
The confirmation of the official launch of “Red Dead Redemption 2” for the autumn of next year also attests to the veracity of previous reports saying that the game is already in development.
Back in May 2014, Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, attended the Cowen and Company Analyst conference and he was very upbeat of the “Red Dead Redemption” franchise.
Zelnick said that it seems quite obvious already that “Red Dead” is a permanent franchise. He also pointed out that the risk of just releasing more games is that the developer ends up just bulking its release schedule which most consumers do not want.
The Take-Two CEO said that consumers nowadays want better and not more. He also added that they don’t always rush to make sequels but that does not mean that they won’t get back to its development eventually.
It seems that it was the route taken by the very popular and very successful open-world action adventure video game series “GTA,” which is also under the stable of Rockstar Games.
Zelnick assured fans and gamers that “Red Dead Redemption 2” shall be offering incredible emotional depth and more when it comes out on the gaming consoles in the fall of next year.
He said that as far as he knows, “Red Dead Redemption 2” shall have great story elements and gameplay elements too.
