We’ve recently seen a new trailer for the upcoming ninth season of “Real Housewives of Atlanta”, and the video has been the subject of many discussions among fans of the show online. It quickly became clear that the producers knew what chords to strike when they want to get a reaction out of their fans, but it looks like we didn’t even get a proper impression of the story from that video.
According to official reports, the actual contents of the season will be much more dramatic and provocative than what the trailer showed, so fans should brace themselves for a serious installment in the series.
It’s obvious why the producers would want to keep the best surprises for later, and such statements actually paint the new season in an even more impressive light. After all, fans were already impressed by what they saw in the preview, so if the season itself offers even more than that, it’s definitely going to be an exciting ride.
It also sounds like the show is undergoing some changes in its general direction, as the producers are apparently going to explore a slightly different theme for this season. There will be a departure from the style fans knew from the previous seasons, and there will be more attention to details like the relationships between the characters, as well as their personal feelings about certain situations.

On the other hand, the show is of course not going to let go of its dramatic components, and we’re about to see plenty of that in the new season as well. We might see the relationships of some who’ve been closer before starting to fall apart, as a counterbalance to the rekindling of others.
All in all, it sounds like it’s going to be a very dynamic season full of new developments for pretty much everyone. While the trailer paid particular attention to certain cast members like Kenya and Phaedra, the show is going to give enough focus to all of its characters over the upcoming episodes, according to claims made by people involved in it.
Other interesting developments lined up for season 9 include the return of the ex of Kandi Burruss, Russell Spencer. It’s not quite clear how things are going to develop between them at this point, but it’s possible that we’re going to see some turbulent moments between the two of them, and they could have a more central part in the plot for a large part of the season.
In fact, Russell might have a particularly important part in the story of the new season, as it’s implied that Kandi’s son will show an interest in getting to know him, to which Kandi will likely have some objections.
It’s possible that things could turn around for them though, with Kandi and Russell finding themselves brought together by the boy. That would actually be an endearing development that many fans wouldn’t mind seeing, judging by some of the discussions we’ve seen online. While there’s a huge possibility of some drama between those people, it’s also just as likely that this season will show some positive changes in their lives.
